PRIVACY POLICY FOR THE SHENANARTS APP

Shenanarts ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Shenanarts mobile application (the "App"), available on the Apple App Store, to provide information about our community theater in Fishersville, Virginia. The App is a free service offering details on current and upcoming shows, audition notices, donation information, "About Us," and related announcements.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our information practices, including use of push notifications and Firebase services for content delivery.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information directly through the App. The App does not require registration, login, forms, surveys, or any entry of personal details (e.g., name, email, phone, address).

However, to deliver dynamic content (shows, auditions, etc.) and optional push notifications, the App uses Firebase services from Google LLC:

• Cloud Firestore fetches and displays content.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) enables push notifications.

When the App initializes Firebase or uses these features, certain non-personal but device-related information is automatically transmitted to Google, including:

• A unique Firebase Installation ID (FID) or similar identifier for the app instance (used to manage installations and deliver notifications).
• IP address (temporarily collected for service delivery and abuse prevention).
• Basic device and app information (e.g., device model, iOS version, app version, language/locale, screen dimensions).
• For push notifications (if enabled): FCM registration token (to identify the device for message delivery).

This information is not linked to you personally (no names, emails, or other identifiers), and we do not use it to profile or identify individual users. It helps Firebase provide reliable content syncing and notifications.

We do not collect:

• Precise location
• Advertising identifiers (e.g., IDFA) for tracking
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or performance metrics that identify individuals (unless you enable additional Firebase tools like Analytics or Crashlytics)
• Payment or financial details

2. Push Notifications

The App may send optional push notifications for theater updates (e.g., new shows, auditions, ticket alerts).

• Notifications require your explicit permission via iOS ("Allow Notifications?").
• If granted, FCM handles delivery using the anonymous registration token.
• Notifications contain only public, non-personal theater information.
• They are not promotional/marketing unless separately consented to.
• Manage/disable via device Settings > Notifications > Shenanarts App.
• Notifications are not required for core App functionality.

3. Automatic / Device Information

In addition to Firebase data above, the App may receive standard iOS non-personal info (e.g., device type, OS version) for compatibility.

4. How We Use Information

• We do not store or use any personal data.
• Firebase-handled data (e.g., installation IDs, tokens) is used solely by Google to:
  • Serve Firestore content updates.
  • Deliver opted-in notifications.
  • Maintain service security and performance.
• We access aggregated, non-identifiable insights from Firebase (if any) only to improve the App.

5. Third-Party Services: Firebase and Others

We use Firebase (Google LLC) for backend content and notifications. Google processes the limited data described above per their Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy & Security. We have no control over Google's practices but choose Firebase for its security standards.

The App may also link to external sites/services:

• shenanarts.org
• Donation platforms (e.g., PayPal)
• Ticketing or social media

These have their own privacy policies. Review them before use.

No other third-party SDKs collect data.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to secure the App. Firebase uses industry-standard protections for its services. However, no system is fully secure.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will appear in the App and on shenanarts.org with a new Effective Date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
